I'm one of those people that are always busy but can't ever really tell you what I'm busy on, however between handling designs and inventory for Demeanor and knocking-out freelance work through blog.pillcollection.com, I managed to find some spare time to create one of my favorite designs to-date!

Recently I've fallen in love with bright pop-colors against grey backgrounds, and she is a perfect example of where my artwork is headed these days!

I think this design would make a great print as well as a nice shirt design, let me know what you think, also I haven't been able to come up with a name for her yet, so if you have any ideas please drop them in the comments section?

I Still Love H.E.R. Tank

Yasiin Bey x Louis Vuitton Commercial

Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def) is starring in new Louis Vutton commercials for their 'Core Values' campaign with Muhammad Ali.  The above commerical titled 'Dream' has Bey reciting powerful quotes from Ali, in awe inspiring fashion.  It's hard not to be affected by the greatness of Ali's words as Bey adds his own depth to the this video.

Luxury Shield Henley S/S

Last month when we dropped our Luxury Shield Thermal Henley we recieved a huge positive response about the drop and also, a lot of angry emails over the black version being sold out so quickly. Luxury Shield Thermal Henley

This is definitely flu season, just this week we’ve had some beautiful days and freezing nights, so it’s perfect weather to introduce our ‘Luxury Shield’ Thermal Henley. This 4-button placket thermal is great for any kind of temperature, it’s thin but long sleeved and will help keep the cold breeze out.

The Demeanor shield featured on this thermal, pulls from every element of our brand that makes us who we are. Of course the ‘DM’ logo is featured in the upper half of the shield, with ‘86’ at the bottom half which is the year that all the founders of this brand were born. The influence of the Maryland shield is also very visible in this design, while still representing the 'Luxury' element of our brand. The background of the shield is fabric that has been dyed and screen printed while the border and letters of the shield have been embroidered.

These thermals are unisex and fit extremely well in all sizes. As always quantities are extremely limited so get yours from our online store here!

Mila & Fire Vintage Website Relaunch Event

Last month, Mila and Fire vintage hosted a party to celebrate the relaunch of their website. Multiple brands from the DMV, NYC, and PA participated in the event hosted at Lotus Lounge and ofcourse Demeanor was there to rep for our brand.

Favorite Products of 2011

With 2011 winding down, its only right to take a look back at some of my favorite products that Demeanor has dropped over the course of the year.
Our first 'DM Logo' Tee is my favorite T-shirt of 2011. The design is simple yet bold and printing our logo in fire-red on this olive tee, makes this perfect for any season.

However, the thing that really makes this shirt a true winner is the detail paid to the design on the back. This tee is understated but powerful. I love it!

With the 'DM Logo' Hoodie being the first hoodie that Demeanor released we wanted to make it more brand eccentric than we did our sweatshirts last year, especially because a hoodie usually gets far more wears and last longer than most t-shirts. I wear this hoodie regularly, usually layered up to combat the chilly winter weather these days.

When we decided to create this clothing line, carabiner key chains were the first item that I wanted to produce, however for branding reasons as a clothing line it made much more sense to put out some clothes first. Now that we have these key chains in stock it will be a long, long, long time before I lose my keys again.

The 'Diamond Dave' pom pom beanies were well recieved as the continuation of our 'Rich Kids Collection' which we will continue building upon in the upcoming year. I love this beanie because its so bright, and the design is very well executed giving it a lot personality. Honestly, its impossible to wear this thing out somewhere not get some compliments.

This month we released an entire series of 'DM Logo' beanies in a bunch of different colorways, if I had to decide on which one I love the most at this moment it would have to be red (I'm just addicted to the color red right now for some reason) even though I wear the black one the most!

Our buttons are awesome, there really is no other way to put it. I love seeing the creative ways people wear our buttons, on hats, bookbags, pants, shoe strings, purses, etc. Out of all of the buttons we've made so far, the two that we started with are still my two favorite 'Diamond Dave' and 'Sex Sells'.

'DMV Slang' is the best concept/design that Demeanor has ever done. We successfully managed to take everything that makes up this brand and put it in one clean design. We are from the DMV, which is why we chose to use the two bars and three stars. As a brand we are all about taking things to the next level, and so we illustrated a guy not only running but winning his race! And in the back ground, almost an after thought of the design, we've put all of the slang that generations of DMV residents have used that make this such a unique location to grow up and live. This shirt is by far our most thought out and I think we'll revisit some time in the future.

As far as 2011 is concerned our Private Jets & Diamonds tee is our highest selling product. This design struck a chord with people for some reason, perhaps it was the equation at the bottom of the shirt Private Jets + Diamonds = (insert woman here). At every event and vendor showcase that we attended this shirt always sold the most, and when I whenever I wear it I notice people from across the room squinted up to try to read it and then they always chuckle once they realize what they equation means.

Every design and product that we release is always made with women in mind, however some designs just look better when worn by the opposite sex. Our M86 tee is definately one of the items! I just love the fit and high quality look that the female version of these shirts had.
If you didn't grab one of our 'Diamond Dave Legacy' Cardigans the minute they dropped than unfortunately you missed out. This cardigan makes my favorites list simply because of it's rarity, and also I love this cardigan because of its versatility, it can be worn just about anywhere and any occasion.

The next installment of our 'DM Logo' beanies has arrived! First up is our new 'DM Logo' Large Beanies which measure about 9' inches and are very versatile in the way that they can be worn.
For whatever reason the color red is really growing on me this year, so this is my favorite of the bunch so far.

Our blue beanies are a bit darker than teal but still any eye catcher.

DM Logo Hoodie

An unannounced midnight release may seem a bit drastic but with this offering it's defiantly a necessity. Since its freezing outside now, the timing is perfect to drop our brand new 'DM Logo' hoodies!
We wanted to keep this design simple and bold so of course our 'DM Logo' was the answer, coming in at over a 5,000 stitch count with 'DEMEANOR' printed down the sleeve. The intricate details definitely make this piece a must have.

Designer Showcase

On Saturday, a great fashion forward crowd came out to support the Designer Showcase hosted by Mila & Fire, Alex Smith, and The Gold Diggers. The location was cozy and very chic and the drinks were cheap so it was definitely the place to be!The Gold Diggers are an online boutique that sells not only top notch vintage wear but also reworked vintage clothing! They have very nice dress and casual wear and nice accessories for any occasion.
Alex Smith is one of those people that is just good at everything she does. She is the creator of some of the most imaginative and high quality bracelets that you will ever come across and her rabid fan base quickly buy up anything her ALS shop puts out, she is also the owner and operator of The Good Hair Blog, and reigning Instagram celebrity!
Of course Demeanor was in the building to add some testosterone to the mix. Clunie was giving a rundown of the brand while John was intimidating anyone hoping to come over and buy one of our shirts and new beanies, with his "I just got out of prison look."
All jokes aside however, John is hands down the best salesmen I know. Legend has it that in the 3rd grade he once stole all of his teachers chalk and then sold it back to him at a 60% mark up, the man is hustler!
Mila and Fire's section was so busy throughout the night that I was never able to get a clear shot of them or their products but that’s their stand in this picture, crowded with dope vintage clothing that would make London Theophilus jealous. We joked earlier in the night how they were our sister brand, because ever since we met earlier this year they’ve been at every event that we’ve been to and have hustled just as hard if not harder to make their mark on the scene and based upon their ever growing popularity I would say it’s definitely paying off.
It’s always cool to be invited to events like this, it’s nice to see the type of people that Demeanor attracts. We have customers of all ages and races, and they respect the quality of the products that we put out and everyone loves the meaning behind the brand.

DM Logo Tee

This t-shirt serves as the first time that we used our DM logo as the primary design on any of our shirts. Our DM logo has been present on every product that we've ever produced, usually on the right sleeve or the back of the neck of all shirts but this time we decided to shine a little light on one of the most important and recognizable parts of our brand, the logo!
While the front of the tee is a simple yet strong statement, the design on the back is far more intricate and pulls inspiration from the very first shirt that we ever made Love, Lives, in Luxury.We used the classic Love, Lives, in Luxury silhouette while adding a bit of our world domination goals to it by including the locations that Demeanor will have a presence in much sooner than later. However the whole design was brought together by using an upside down pyramid to add some dimension.
Perhaps its the olive color shirt with the fire red lettering but these shirts are selling faster than usual so be sure to pick up yours now, guys and girls shirts can be found here. Also you know we don't reprint so once they're gone, they're gone!
