The 3rd Annual "Ride 4 Life" Suicide Prevention Ride

Demeanor is asking everyone to come out and support the annual "Ride 4 Life" suicide awareness event taking place September 8, 2012, 9am - 5pm and kickstands up at 1pm sharp. "Ride 4 Life" is a charity event collaborated with the National Organization for People of Color Against Suicide (NOPCAS) and the East Coast Busas Motorcycle Club, to shine light on what has become a significant national social issue.

If you decide you do not wish to participate in the bike ride (kickstands up at 1pm), there will still be a variety of activities for all ages. There will be food, vendors, music, moon bounce, clown, prizes and ZUMBA. So, just come prepared to enjoy yourself.

The "Ride 4 Life" charity event will take place at the East Coast Busas Clubhouse located on 5028 Beech Place, Temple Hills, MD 20748.

Please come out for a amazing time and help us with supporting a great cause!

DM Logo Tee

Spring is kind of here, so we wanted to kick off the season with a bright and stand-out-ish tee. For men we have the teal/red DM logo tee, you can check out the details here.

Luxury Shield Henley S/S

Last month when we dropped our Luxury Shield Thermal Henley we recieved a huge positive response about the drop and also, a lot of angry emails over the black version being sold out so quickly. Fashcapade Guest Blogger: Demeanor's Julian Starks

Fashcapade kicked off its MARCH MEN series, which shines a spotlight on male fashion. I was given the opportunity to guest blog on Fashcapade's site to talk about how I see fashion, the origins of Demeanor and my design process. Below are a few excerpts from the post:

What does fashion mean to me?
Fashion, is all about creativity, confidence and comfort. To be fashion forward or just ahead of the curve in any field, you have to kind of disregard other people’s opinions and be able to be push boundaries, while being confident and comfortable in your ideas. Anyone who has pioneered anything is usually the person that gets laughed at or talked about, but eventually people catch on and follow suit.

Taking chances is also a big part of fashion; you can’t fail if you never try, so even in failure you succeed at trying something new.

Why we decided to launch Demeanor?
My partners and I launched Demeanor as a lifestyle brand over a year ago. Our goal from the very beginning was to create an all encompassing company. The whole idea of a lifestyle brand is, we want you to get dressed in Demeanor clothes, with Demeanor art hanging in the background, and listen to Demeanor music on your way to a Demeanor event.

We also wanted to create an experience that spoke to our generation and our environment. No one I know wants to pay a million dollars for a high quality shirt, but we all want to look like we paid a million for it, so for us we decided to create that, high-end-quality at a reasonable price.

'Ms. Demeanor' Stickers

Our first batch of '12 stickers has just arrived! 'Ms. Demeanor' is a solid design that represents all of the things that we love here a Demeanor (beautiful women, huge diamonds, and just the overall feel of luxury). As we mentioned in an earlier post, this year we're approaching our designs from a more colorful and out-of-the-box direction so don't be surprised to she her pop up on a shirt for the Spring/Summer collections that we'll be rolling out soon.

I'm truly honored to have made this prestigious list this year, being recognized for the hard work that I've put in at perfecting my craft in the art field while also building a highly successful lifestyle brand with my brothers JeeVan, Clunie, and John!

Luxury Shield Thermal Henley

This is definitely flu season, just this week we’ve had some beautiful days and freezing nights, so it’s perfect weather to introduce our ‘Luxury Shield’ Thermal Henley. This 4-button placket thermal is great for any kind of temperature, it’s thin but long sleeved and will help keep the cold breeze out.

The Demeanor shield featured on this thermal, pulls from every element of our brand that makes us who we are. Of course the ‘DM’ logo is featured in the upper half of the shield, with ‘86’ at the bottom half which is the year that all the founders of this brand were born. The influence of the Maryland shield is also very visible in this design, while still representing the 'Luxury' element of our brand. The background of the shield is fabric that has been dyed and screen printed while the border and letters of the shield have been embroidered.
