After bringing you the exclusive on the BAIT x ASICS Gel Lyte III “Basics Model-001 Vanquish,” we’ve got an exclusive first look at the next model from the ongoing collaboration, the BAIT x ASICS Gel Lyte III“Basics Model-002 Guardian.” While details are still scarce, the “Vanquish” features a unique mix of colors and materials just like the previous shoe. Video/PICS: Extra Butter x ASICS Gel Epirus “California Mountain Snake” Preview

The third installment to Extra Butter’s collaborative “Death List 5” collection with Asics gets officially revealed today with the teaser video presented above.  A range of sneakers inspired by five of deadliest breeds of snakes to hit the big screen, this pair – dubbed the “California Mountain Snake” – follows the “Cottonmouth” and the “Copperhead” releases. Getting its name from Daryl Hannah’s character in Quentin Tarantino’s iconic film Kill Bill – which should provide fans of the movie insight to the meaning behind the teaser itself – these Gel Epirus sneakers sport a white, black and red colorway with snakeskin featured on the brand’s signature crossed stripes at its midfoot. Be on the lookout for this pair and the remaining two to be available at Extra Butter’s shop.

PICS: ASICS 2014 Gel Lyte Retro Pack

2013 was a big year for ASICS, with the Japanese footwear giant making genuine and successful efforts to expand its resumé with California boutique BAIT, Ronnie Fieg and Extra Butter – to name but a few. For 2014, the brand seeks to continue pumping out colorful throwback runners, here debuting what they have in store with a new pack of retros. The Gel Lyte III can be seen executed in super clean grey color pairings, whilst the crowd-favorite Gel Saga is outfitted with premium black leather and lined with subtle deconstructed camouflage. German retailer 43 Einhalb was amongst the first to break these rare beauties, which are available online now starting at about $166 USD.

Asics have been on a roll this year with their collection, almost every month they have released a style and color that most people have liked and they deliver once again with these Gel Lyte edition. The Vanquish is to be released on December 14 for $150.00. I guess the popularity has caused the shoe price to increase.
