"Following in the footsteps of this fall’s 458 Speciale is the latest special edition take on Ferrari‘s successor to the beloved F430: a Niki Lauda edition of the 458 Italia. Recently commissioned by an unnamed Ferrari owner through the Italian supercar manufacturer’s Maranello-based Tailor Made program and conveniently coinciding with this year’s release of Ron Howard’s Rush, the unique 458 pays homage to Lauda – an aviation entrepreneur and the current chairman of the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team, but a man invariably linked to the Prancing Horse thanks to two F1 World Championships for the Scuderia. Sporting Ferrari’s signature bright red paint scheme, the Lauda 458 sees the Italian tricolore painted across its roof while gold rims further evoke the look of Lauda’s 1970s racers. The flag motif also hits the interior of the vehicle as it’s echoed throughout the red-stitched black leather and carbon fiber-adorned cabin – thus making this one-off a perfect tribute to one of the most productive eras in Ferrari’s storied racing history."
