Turns up Rick Ross's new track "Gallardo."
At the Frankfurt Motor Show, Lamborghini is presenting the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse, a limited edition, “street-legal” version of its famous race car, priced at €191,100 (around $253,300).
Lamborghini said the Squadra Corse is based on the Gallardo Super Trofeo, itself the race car from the one-make Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo race series. The name Squadra Corse refers to a newly formed department within Lamborghini corporate that manages all Lamborghini racing activities.
Exterior upgrades for the Squadra Corse include a decal strip in the colours of the Italian flag and a high-gloss black finish for the front air intakes, rear diffuser and 19in alloy wheels. The brake calipers are available in red, black or yellow, and there’s a choice of white, yellow, red or grey paintwork.
A combination of carbon-fibre and Alcantara trim give the interior a racier look, while customers can specify racing bucket seats or “comfort” seats.
Color choices aside, the Squadra Corse will debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show with Super Trofeo-inspired styling and a V10 engine that develops 570 HP (419 kW).
The supercar accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.4s and boasts a top speed of 320km/h. Of course, performance like this translates into serious gas guzzling, and the Squadra Corse consumes 13.5L/100km over a mixed driving cycle, emitting 319g of CO2 per km.
Pricing for the special edition Gallardo, which is limited to just 50 units worldwide, starts at $259,100.
Special edition models of the ageing Gallardo included the Tricolore and Super Trofeo Stradale and a number of region-specific versions, such as the Hong Kong 20th Anniversary Edition.
