I wish I would pay 83k for a bag for my lady, she better really have that million dollar oh oh oh lol.

A crocodile-skin Birkin handbag made by luxury goods firm Hermes has sold for a record 63,800 euros ($82,600) at an auction in Paris.

The bag, manufactured in 2006 and marked by its unusual combination of orange, red and pink colours, was sold at above its estimate of 40,000-50,000 euros at the auction on May 21, , auction house Artcurial said on Monday. The previous record sale price for a Birkin bag was 61,000 euros, during a 2011 auction in Paris. Named after French actress and singer Jane Birkin, the Birkin handbags are one of Hermes’s signature designs and have become iconic in the fashion world.

Dissatisfied with the V8 Vantage, or its bigger brother with the V12 engine? Then meet Aston Martin‘s newest monster – the V12 Vantage S. While the name to most would normally denote fancier interior trim and a lightened body, the British masterpiece manufacturer have disregarded rival companies’ traditions and decked out this new release with a revised 6.0-liter V12 engine now outputting 565 horsepower, a new seven-speed “hydraulically actuated automated manual transmission” with race-spec software and enhanced three-stage adaptive damping in its suspension. More noteworthy however is the improved top speed that now pushes this sports coupé past the 200mph milestone, a feat accomplished by only one other car in the Aston Martin family – the seven-figured special edition super car One-77. With a projected price tag of around $200,000 USD and a release in early 2014, this once touted “Baby Aston” seems to have grown up into a bonafide brute.

Trip into space with DiCaprio costs $1.55m

Leonardo DiCaprio is going to get closer to stars of a different kind as he heads into space aboard the Virgin Galactic, and a well-heeled bidder at the Cannes Film Festival has paid 1.2 million euros (1.5 million) to be his travel buddy.

The Hollywood star’s sub-orbital trip was among 20 goodies up for grabs at the 20th amfAR bash, a gala auction that is one of the glitziest festival events and that this year helped raise a record-breaking $25 million for AIDS research.Other big-ticket items were a role as an extra in four Hollywood movies, including a feature starring DiCaprio (1.5 million euros); two VIP seats for the 2014 Oscars awards (140,000 euros); a private acoustic concert for 45 people by Simon Le Bon and John Taylor of Duran Duran (400,000 euros); and a game of six-a-side against a team led by Zinedine Zidane (380,000 euros).

DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman, Janet Jackson, Jessica Chastain, Kylie Minogue, Audrey Tautou, Kristin Scott Thomas and Paris Hilton were among the 900 people who attended the charity dinner event at Antibes’ Eden Roc hotel. A table for 10 cost 120,000 euros, and an individual seat nearly 3,000 euros.

Entertainment was provided by Duran Duran, who played their classic “Girls on Film,” Shirley Bassey, who sang the signature Bond song “Goldfinger,” and American Music Awards winner Hot Chelle Rae performed their smash “Tonight, Tonight.”

This year’s auction raked in more than twice the amount collected in 2012. Since 1993, the gala has raised 87 million euros.

In between flights and need some rest? Well, Abu Dhabi is offering this service for $12,000.00. Gesh! They can keep it, plus this looks crazy to be sleeping inside of in the middle of the airport. Just build a mini hotel connected to the hotel. This looks like an egg and I'm going to be the embriol inside. But, hey If I was rich I might do it lol.

Abu Dhabi International Airport has installed the world’s first ‘GoSleep’ sleeping pods which allow passengers to grab a few hours sleep between flights.

Ten sleeping pods have now been installed in Terminal 3 and in the Al Dhabi Lounge in Terminal 1 at Abu Dhabi International Airport, with a further 35 on order for installation later this year. The stylish, Finnish designed sleeping pods feature a partial or fully enclosed sliding shade that isolates the customer from noise, light and crowds.

After an initial launch phase, the chairs will be upgraded to include Internet access, will include secure storage for luggage and other valuables, and will allow customers to charge their laptops, mobile telephones, and other electronic devices.

Harry Potter book sales for $227,000 at auction

I've never been into the Harry Potter books, I always thought they were for children, but there are some adults that read them and with the recent auction price for $227,000 shows that people really love this stuff. 

A 1997 first edition of “Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone” annotated by J.K. Rowling sold for £150,000 ($227,000) at a London auction Tuesday.

Two bidders battled it out for the work before the hammer finally came down, triggering a round of applause at the Sotheby’s auction house.

The book contains commentary and 22 of Rowling’s own original illustrations.

The lot formed part of a sale of books annotated by 50 British and Commonwealth contemporary writers, raising a combined total of £439,200.

At Google I/O, Mercedes-Benz demonstrates upcoming integration with Google services using an iPhone connected to its Drive Kit Plus feature in an SL-class.

The DigitalDriveStyle app combines powerful Google search, location and mapping features into a single, safe-to-use-while-driving service for Mercedes owners.

The system enables a driver to seamlessly integrate their smartphone into the car’s infotainment architecture and for the device’s apps to be categorized and displayed on the vehicle’s dashboard screen and to be accessed via console buttons or through voice commands.

The DigitalDriveStyle app also integrates predictive search into the Google Places API meaning that as a driver starts to type or dictate a destination, the software automatically predicts the most likely destination, whether it’s a street, a shop or restaurant.

By combining Google Street View and Google+ local images, users can also take 360° virtual tours of any intended destination before they set off.

The app also adds ‘heatmaps’ to searched for destinations to highlight areas with the highest predicted concentrations of people — such as shopping centers and nightclubs.

Mercedes was the first car company to open a research and development centre in Silicon Valley — its Palo Alto site opened way back in 1995.

The car company has invested heavily in developing its own apps and services in-house, and the integration of Google’s services into the latest edition of DigitalDriveStyle app is a result of the close working relationship the two companies have formed.

The irony is, however, that all of these innovations will not be coming to the Android platform. The DigitalDriveStyle app and the Drive Kit Plus — the combination of hardware and software that enables a smartphone to be integrated into a Mercedes — only work with the iPhone.

Guests staying at the iconic, sail-shaped luxury hotel the Burj Al Arab in Dubai are being given 24-carat gold-plated iPads which will serve as their personal virtual concierge for the duration of their stay.

It’s the latest in lavish and — and some might say over-the-top —  hotel perks being launched out of luxury chains looking to raise the bar and seduce the richest and glitziest hotel guests to walk through their lobby doors.

Every in-house guest is being equipped with the loan of a gold-plated iPad which they can use to access guest services, restaurant and spa menus, private dining, butler and housekeeping services.The gold edition is the second installment in Burj Al Arab’s virtual concierge service. Last October, the hotel premiered 24-carat pink gold iPads in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The gold iPad, created by The Gold & Co. London and embossed with the hotel logo, will also be available for purchase at the Burj Al Arab’s boutique shop for a cool 37,490 AED or €7,930.

Other gold-plated products available include the iPad mini, iPhone 5 and the Blackberry Q10.

Somebody paid Apple chief Tim Cook $610,000 to have a coffee date with him. I hope whoever this was got their opportunity that they were looking for. I hope they pitched a good business proposal and sealed the deal cause thats almost a million dollars.

An anonymous bidder paid $610,000 in a charity auction for coffee date with Apple chief Tim Cook, the organizers said Wednesday.

The Tim Cook auction tied the record for highest winning bid at charity auction site Charitybuzz, according to a statement from the group and its partner, The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights. The bid tied a record set by a 2013 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster auctioned in March 2013 for $610,000, the statement said. “We’re truly amazed by the results of Tim Cook’s remarkable donation,” said Coppy Holzman, Charitybuzz chief executive and founder. “Sincere thanks goes out to Charitybuzz’s community of socially conscious bidders here in the US and overseas… we are thrilled to have amassed more than $1 million this spring for the RFK Center’s powerful work.” The coffee chat with Cook was limited to two guests, who would be subject to security screening and be responsible for their own travel and accommodations.

The 15th-floor penthouse at the Residences at W Hollywood in Los Angeles is on the market for $45 million. The 25,000 sq. ft. penthouse has four bedrooms, eight bathrooms and 340-degree views of the Hollywood Hills, downtown Los Angeles, Century City and the ocean. It includes a ballroom that can fit 250 people, a wine room and wine vault, a screening room with LCD projection, a solarium, a gallery and a pub-style tap room. The nearly 4,000-square-foot master suite has a fireplace, entry foyer and oversize walk-in closet and dressing room designed to look like a Ralph Lauren store, says Richard Robertson III, the apartment’s architect.

 The unit also includes a fitness center with an attached beauty parlor, a library, 17 valet parking spaces and a reception area with separate women’s and men’s powder rooms. Mr. Robertson says he designed the space, which is still raw, to emulate the golden era of Hollywood with a streamlined Art Deco look. The owner can work with Mr. Robertson and interior designer Sue Firestone to customize the penthouse or bring in his or her own designer. Sixty percent of the 143 units in the W Hollywood residences, which range in price from $800,000 to $3 million, are sold as of early May.

New Car Alert: Rolls-Royce Ghost Alpine Trial Centenary

The Rolls-Royce Ghost Alpine Trial Centenary Edition, which honors the automaker’s 1913 Alpine Trials cars, debuted at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. Four Rolls Royce Silver Ghosts embarked a century ago (1913) on the Austrian Alpine Trials, which was the benchmark for automotive endurance at the time.

In performing without fault over 1820 grueling miles of near impassable mountain terrain, the Rolls-Royce Works Team and privateer entrant James Radley helped cement the marque’s reputation for reliability and mechanical excellence. The Alpine Trial Centenary Ghost takes close inspiration from Radley’s Silver Ghost with a bespoke “baby-blue” paint hue, and black grille and wheels.

Inside, the clock displays the stages of the rally and timings, while inlays to rear picnic tables and the front fascia represent the topography and distances of the Alpine route, and the headliner matches the hood of Radley’s car. The Special Edition car will join Radley 1913 Silver Ghost to take part in a faithful re-enactment of the classic rally, starting in Vienna on 14 June 2013.

All of you bag owner will love this! A handbag museum with a collection of over 300 handbags that date from the 16th century to the 21st century opened this summer in Shinsa-dong, Seoul, South Korea. This huge project of archiving and curating the vast history of handbags was initiated by Simone, a Korean Handbag manufacture.

Designed by Korean architects UAD, the purse-shaped structure, complete with monumental loop handles perched on its summit, also includes a flagship store and designated studio space for up-and-coming designers.

New Car Alert: Porsche 911 GT2 Turbo

Depicted here in an exclusive computer-generated image, the new GT2 borrows the mechanical package of the new Turbo S, including its 552bhp twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six engine and dual-clutch automatic gearbox. A top speed of more than 200mph and a 0-62mph time of close to 3.0sec is expected.

In keeping with its motorsport brief, the new Porsche 911 GT2 will ditch the 911 Turbo S's four-wheel drive system in favour of rear-wheel drive. Other features include the new four-wheel steer system. 

An RS version is expected to develop upwards of 620bhp when it is revealed during 2015.
